The twenty-first century is the most advanced and luxurious one where the mankind has unprecedentedly broken the walls of Determinism and entered into a new world of Possibilism. Today, man has conquered many evils and sailed through them successfully, a process in progress even today. One of biggest evil, man has set aside is discrimination on basis of religious, race, gender, ethnicity etc by setting up Democratic government whereby derecognizing these differentiations and considering all equal in front of the law. Further, the world is becoming more inclusive and connected by various means, this process named as Globalization, which envisages the whole world as one family. However, the story doesn’t end up here; there is an important and emerging aspect of the modern world. When we call the name of a region “West Asia”, two important attributes struck to our mind. One is Oil and another is Destabilisation or civil wars or terrorism. Syria is witnessing civil war against president Basher-Al-Assad leading to great causalities and destruction. Also, Syria and Iraq are two major countries where ISIS has shown its greatest presence. Further, the struggle of Kurds for Kurdistan can also be added up here. Moreover, Afghanistan and Pakistan are also victims of severe Terrorism by Taliban. In middle- east, Israel -Palestine is decades old conflict. Rohingyas in the Rakhine state of Myanmar are also facing prosecutions from the cruel military there leading to migration of people. Moving out of Asia, Africa is an another major source of terrorism and refugees. Boko-Haram in North –Eastern Nigeria has inflicted a greater havoc to people. Other destabilised regions are Libya, South Sudan etc. Civil wars or prosecution though the major reasons but not the sole reason of refugee crisis. Push and Pull factors like famine, diseases, lack of subsistence opportunities also have forced people to leave their homelands. Mexico can be quoted as the best example where people migrate to the USA, especially for better-earning options. Major recipients of refugees are European Union, USA, India etc. EU is receiving refugees especially from west Asia and Africa, the USA from Mexico and central America, India from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Tibetans, Afghanistan and Myanmar etc. All recipients have reacted differently. India has welcomed refugees from many countries, most prominent are Tibetans. In the European Union, Germany has opened her arms widely for refugees and other countries also have accepted but with strict limits. However, there is strong dissent among the public for acceptance of refugees and Brexit was also given a boost by it. The USA, which is known for its humorous treatment of refugees, has ironically chosen a U-turn by various restrictive measures taken by Donald Trump’s regime. It has also started building a wall in USA- Mexico border to stop migration. Further, in a recent event, India has chosen to stay silent on Rohingyas issue in its bordering state Myanmar. Such a shift in the policy of the world towards refugees raises a serious question that “Is it good for humanity. Many, who favour restrictions on refugees has argued that it has caused serious problems to recipient countries. Citizens of these countries have worked hard for their country’s progress and they pay taxes for their wellbeing, not for refugees. Further, it is argued that it has led to increase in crimes in the recipient countries. Also, It result into severe demographical changes which in coming times could raise communal tensions in coming times as seen in North-Eastern states of India especially Assam. Moreover, people, especially from developed countries, find it difficult to get jobs as these new people are ready to work at throw away prices leading to job crisis for citizens. However, these arguments can be set aside easily by just asking oneself a humanistic question. Do all these arguments overweigh death of thousands or millions of refugees, among them women and children are prominent. Human has done phenomenal progress just by sharing their knowledge and working together no matter which country or continent or religion they belong. The same approach needs to be hailed here to yield a better result for whole humanity. In simple words, humans have to work for humans. Otherwise, mankind would witness greater havoc and process is on. In Syrian civil war, lakhs of children have died and almost double are suffering from malnutrition. Women have witnessed worst face of crimes like kidnapping, rape, forced prostitution esp. minors etc. Such instances can be easily traced in newspapers. Boko Haram has kidnapped hundreds of girls and forced them into prostitution. Many refugees are drowned in Mediterranean sea aspiring to reach Europe. Many children are trained by terrorist organisations for killing people and also are used as human bombs. At such circumstances, refusing refugees or discriminating them on various basis would deteriorate the situation and give the wrong message to the whole world, which could become the base of another immoral ideology leading to more conflicts in coming era. Humanity has to understand, there is no differentiation among humans. Welfare of all humans irrespective of their man-made specification would truly mean welfare and wellbeing of society. In this regard, the whole world needs to get united to fight terrorism, immoral regimes, hence establishing Democracy and ultimately peace. United Nations convention on refugees & UNHRC should also be strengthened to provide every possible help to refugees. The process of globalisation needs to be catalysed, so that present generation could see the whole world as a united family with its arms always open for its members.
