I have traveled many roads on these
fascinating highways of life
I was a premature baby and almost didn’t make it it here I am eighty five years later and like Elton John “I’m
Still Standing “
If that number scares anyone-that’s ok-
It scares me too
But at 12 or 26 or even 50 -85  was never in in my head

I was busy living to build a life
Married at 20 to my high school girlfriend -Phyllis
Raising three great children Marc-Kara-
Jodi- each now  with a family of their own(our five grandchildren)
My life has been a road map of many highs and lows- no different than most- with a lot of mileage
The notable high- the birth of our children and grandchildren
The tragic low - the death of Marc- killed by a drunk driver  in 1989-He was 29

I was in the army -a two year draftee
I have been a teacher- counselor-
grief facilitator-lifeguard and swim instructor and an Emergency Medical Techncian
I haven’t seen it all but I’ve seen plenty
The price you pay for longevity
I’ve kept dozens of surgeons- doctors and nurses in business and been put back together as much as Humpty Dumpty

At this point on time I  I’ve learned that your present and future is dictated by the past
That your never to old(or young) to learn
And that you judge people the way you
would like to be judged by the “content of their character “
I know who I am - my faults-my abilities I’m still a work in progress as we all are
With more to learn about all facets of life
Recently my life’s highlight  has been joining this writers community where I have been given the opportunity to share- express and learn from you all

With all I’ve been through i am fortunate
to have lived this life and although I would change a few things that is not a choice on this road well traveled
