I have traveled many roads on thesefascinating highways of lifeI was a premature baby and almost didn’t make it it here I am eighty five years later and like Elton John “I’mStill Standing “If that number scares anyone-that’s ok-It scares me tooBut at 12 or 26 or even 50 -85 was never in in my headI was busy living to build a lifeMarried at 20 to my high school girlfriend -PhyllisRaising three great children Marc-Kara-Jodi- each now with a family of their own(our five grandchildren)My life has been a road map of many highs and lows- no different than most- with a lot of mileageThe notable high- the birth of our children and grandchildrenThe tragic low - the death of Marc- killed by a drunk driver in 1989-He was 29I was in the army -a two year drafteeI have been a teacher- counselor-grief facilitator-lifeguard and swim instructor and an Emergency Medical TechncianI haven’t seen it all but I’ve seen plentyThe price you pay for longevityI’ve kept dozens of surgeons- doctors and nurses in business and been put back together as much as Humpty DumptyAt this point on time I I’ve learned that your present and future is dictated by the pastThat your never to old(or young) to learnAnd that you judge people the way youwould like to be judged by the “content of their character “I know who I am - my faults-my abilities I’m still a work in progress as we all areWith more to learn about all facets of lifeRecently my life’s highlight has been joining this writers community where I have been given the opportunity to share- express and learn from you allWith all I’ve been through i am fortunateto have lived this life and although I would change a few things that is not a choice on this road well traveled
