We often measure our lives by them
They become a significant reference
A  calendar autobiography 
Recalling past issues essence 

The ones  that that trigger joy
Are wonderful and cherished 
The sad and painful ones
Invoke a tragic blemish  

Often unavoidable 
When we have no control 
It can come most unexpected 
Like a bed check-search and roll

The ones that are destructive 
We try to use denial 
But the brain’s great recall 
Opens that dreaded file 

To sum it all up
It’s quite easy to see 
These issues can rise 
Most unexpectedly 

There’s really no protection 
And if it’s got you scared
Like a dangerous weather forecast 
BE PREPARED
