WitchCraft Academy | P10 — Magic and Foes — I gaped at the fire now growing in front of us. The wood slowly burned and turned to ashes while the fire was still crackling and was satisfied with the amount of fuel given to it. "And that is it. Very simple, but hard to control so make sure you aim right or else you'll set something else on fire. I'm talking to you Fyro.", Professor Graves did the universal known sign, that he is watching Fyro. Fyro is a bit of a troublemaker, it was obvious. He was giving off this troublemaker vibe, and keeps throwing paper balls at different students in the class when the Professor's back was turned. "Yeah yeah.", he shrugged casually and gave his signature smirk making Professor Graves frown and turned to his big book of spells. Professor Graves yelled out something and the fire was gone, I didn't quite hear it because my mind was somewhere else. "Okay, now that you guys know the fire spells.….", he turned around the book in one hand and his wand in the other. " Would anyone like to volunteer to try doing this spell?", he glanced at us one by one when his eyes landed on me, making me flinch and look down. I sighed in relief when he turned his gaze to another student which he also called. The girl stood up, and based on how she walked she was pretty confident. Her chin was up while she strutted to the front, her heels clacking against the plain cement floor. Professor Graves motioned to the wood when she was just staring at him. She pointed the tip of her wand to the wood and yelled out. "Fricio.", she said— a bit too quiet for me when doing a spell. She lit a weak fire on the wood which made some people snicker. She turned around and glared at the people who had been caught snickering by her. She strutted back to her seat and smiled. "Uh…okay. Does anyone else want to try? Someone who could lit a bigger fire?", he clasped his hands together and once again searched for another victim. I flinched when suddenly shouted. "You. You are awfully quiet, would you please come and do the spell?", My eyes widened when he was looking at me, I checked behind me to see a person also wide-eyed. I pointed to myself to make sure it was me and that's when he nodded. I stood up, a bit trembling as I make my way towards the remnants of the stacked wood. Don't get me wrong, I really want to learn spells but I don't really want to do it in the front of the class. I wished we could've partnered up and did the spell with just the two of us but not all wishes come true, do they? I pointed the tip of my wand at the wood and took a deep breath before yelling. "Fricio!" I had lit an average looking fire but as it feeds on the wood, it slowly grew bigger. I looked at Professor Graves who nodded at me and I made my way back to my seat. "That's much better. Now, the rest of you one by one.", he took a few more pieces of wood and stacked them on the cobblestone stand. As the others casted the same spells, the girl from earlier kept glancing at me. I managed to catch her looking at me, and lucky for her, she had a blank face on so I couldn't really tell what she feels about me. Anger? Joy? Future Friendship or Future Foe? Few minutes passed and it was finally time to go. Class was really simple, so it's kinda like free time when you're done casting the spell. I noticed that girl from earlier and ran over to her as fast as possible so I can avoid squeezing through people trying to get out of class. "Hey! Wait up!" Fortunately, the girl turned around and I managed to catch up to her now. "What do you want?", she snarled as she flipped her auburn wavy locks. She was actually really pretty, but if it wasn't for her attitude then I probably won't dislike her. I would say hate but…Hate is such a strong word. Ha, Just kidding. Her pretty brown eyes were looking right at my soul which made me shudder. "I just wanted to know why you were staring at me, that's all ", I shrugged. Her face was a bit caked up with different sorts of makeup, from foundation to eye-liner. She reminded me of a clown….. "You took my spotlight.", she folded her arms and pursed her lips. "Spotlight? I don't know what you're talking about.", I frowned and she raised her eyebrows and placed a hand on her chest. "Don't play dumb with me.", she poked her index finger on my arm with force. I scowled at her and she seemed to notice that I was getting angry, she had an amused expression on her face now which made me more angrier. 'Oh, she was definitely one of those girls.', I thought as she flipped her hair once more, tugging on a strand of her auburn hair. "You know what, this is a waste of time.", I spat, turning my heel and walking into the opposite direction.
