Freedom to thinkFreedom to writeFor all of our freedomsWe hold on tightFreedom to chooseFreedom to readFor all of our freedomsOur nation did bleedFor the galant men and womenWho looked tyranny in the eyePreserved this wondrous gift for usThough many had to dieAlthough we have great benefitsFrom what was miraculously wonThere is a job unfinishedThere’s more that must be doneStruggling groups and struggling peopleAre still disinfranchised and downWaiting to join the multitudesWho wear the freedom crownIt’s often taken for grantedWhen we step out the doorThe freedom we’re enjoyingYou cannot ask for moreThe freedom of our faithWhatever it may beCan be focused on those still hoping That soon they’ll all be freeIt is not a fantasy for those still searchingIt’s the same dream our forefathers hadwhen their quest had begunWe learn from our historyWith the ultimate sacrifice -they wonAs our lives take their chosen pathsIt’s so easy to forgetThere is still that work to be done“It still ain’t over yet”
