When I read Jarred’s notice That I was number one selected 
I was  flattened-honored and shocked -
Could not get my thoughts collected 

Never once have I written for that goal
I’ve never written for competition 
In fact I’m wasn’t sure what it meant 
Satisfaction and expression is my only ambition 

It’s gratifying to be so acknowledged 
It’s very nice for the ego
I have thrived in the WO community 
And That’s the way I want to go
We 
I respectfully with gratitude 
Explain my sincere attitude 
In this future competition 
Please excuse me from admission 

I’m not being heroic 
It’s precisely how I feel 
And will my fervent “Thank You”
Please believe my feeling’s real
