They Fear De Say Running from point to point Hearing and saying everything That comes from the masses In the closet of No Ears. All Eyes and Ears stare afar. Running from the pain that eats them every day. The Lion never allows the Bull. To have a day of rest Given to them, Peanuts, even for their diligent Output. From their mouths come sour milk and honey Bitter-Sweet to keep Hands and Feet in their favor. Crushing us with weariness and restlessness That the Eyes, afraid to see And the Ears, scared to hear, And Big Mouths have the desire to say Only in their brave coward closet. The day is coming When the classroom is empty, And no Feet to study the Philosophies and Theories All with the plan of breaking that pain and suffering outside the street, Only thinking about the Stomach and Fame Without resolving the problems of the past, but adding some. Shame and regret will be our future If we always sleep, keeping our heads in the fire. Our tears and regrets can’t even comfort us When all Mouths turn on us with laughter. Always begging for food and pennies Regarded as dirty pigs with no home. Wishing that one day could speak to the roaring Lion But always a Brave coward with a big Mouth. — By Micheal Ansah in 2019
