It all starts with imagination 
The sculptor with their hands
The painter with the brush 
The hammer and chisel for marble 
The chainsaw for wood creations 
                      and 
                 The writer/poet 

To take a thought-refine it in your head
Mold the words into lyrical images -forceful expression or whatever needs motivate 
the artist is both a gift to read and a privileged to create 

If the primary reason is publishing and monetary the writer may go in one direction influenced by commercial possibilities as we as literally integrity 

For the individual who’s has no aspirations 
for “fame and fortune “ the path may be in another direction with creations solely to 
express and create what their needs and experiences dictate at that particular time in their lives

I have followed this path ever since
I began writing 
First to deal with a heart-wrenching 
loss of my son which transitioned
into expressions for healing and recovery 
I became enamored with this  and have
 continued to write for the past thirty years

It would of course to be nice If those 
who read my work ere pleased or lmpressed
But I continue to do this out the sheer
joy- satisfaction and need 
That is my motivation 
Anything else would be icing on the cake -But I will continue to bake
