Last Battle Read Count : 135

Walking around in a stupid daze.  Confusing feelings, my head's in a haze.  Pieces of me come crashing down, my world is crumbling to the ground.  My faith in God has been diminished, while my faith in man is non-existent.

At a young age, the Darkness set in.  It clouded my thoughts, started a war within.  I tried to fight, tried to be bold. In the end, I just grew old.  Now I'm so tired, from battling each day.  I just want to rest, wherever I lay.

This fight has gone on for years in my head.  Nobody realises that I'm already dead.  My spirit has given all that it can, the time has come for my last stand.

I lay down my weapons, I'm done with this fight.  I embrace the Darkness, hold it tight.  Pull it in close with the last of my might.

The war is over, but no one has won.  Outside of my head, the world still goes on.  They do not know that a war was waged as they pass me by.  They'll never know just by looking, that my spirit died.
