CHAPTER 1- GETTING READY
Hi, im Meghan, Meghan Elizabeth rachel. Im turning 14 next week.I live in L.A and thats about for my intro.living the life of high School student is a nightmare.
Tomorrow is my friends birthday party and she invited me to come . And im lying on the bed wondering what to wear for tomorrow. I take out my phone tap on LAUREN.Lauren's my best friend we always do things together.
"Hey! Are you free now? Cause we need to talk" I said holding the phone next to my right ear.
"Sure. What do you want to talk about" lauren replied
"Its about olivia's party tomorrow. Its almost 8.00pm and i still dont know what to wear for tommorow. What will you be wearing?" I said, without stopping for a breadth.
"Chill out!...I know you always take right descision. Pick out something which suits you best...And I'll be wearing a pink frock with a matching pair of shoes." Said Lauren "I gotta go now. See you tomorrow at school."and she ends the call.
"I guess i have to figure it out by my self" i said to my self. And got out of bed, i walked towards my closest and go inside.I scan my clothes with my eyes yet nothing exciting. In right corner of the closet I could spot an off shoulder top in black . I picked it up and took a closer look. It was just the type of outfit i was looking for. And to go with the top i have a skirt which was till my knees with a black and white pattern, I got it as my christmas present last year.
I was so glad i finally found something to wear for tomorrow. But I dont have any matching shoes. Urghh!!...What do i do now?
"Sweetie, lunch is ready come down quick before it gets cold!" Shouts my mom from downstairs.
My hopes were gone. And i came down slower and sadder than usual. BUT then i saw a gold pair of shoes right in front of the main door.it wasnt mine though.but it would go beautifuly with the dress.
"Mom, whose shoes are these?" I asked with curiosity.
"Its the neighbours daughter chelsea" said my mom.
" when did she come here?"
"She And her family came here to have dinner with us.I just said you 10 minuites ago when you were in your room"
I took a flashback in my mind.and then i realized that my mom WAS saying something when i was talking to lauren, i just didnt pay attention to her(mom) words.
I wonder if i could borrow them just for one day.i walked towards the dinning table and sat next to chelsea ,she's quite silent. I grabbed the fork and spoon and sarted eating. Chelsea's already having her desert it was wood apple cheese with chocolate biscutbase.looked so yummy.i quickly finished eating and was on my desert by then chelsea finished her dessert as well as her parent they all got up from their seats. They must going to thier home .i left my dessert and rushed towards them
"STOP! Dont leave" i screamed.
They all stopped and turned all eyes staired on me.
"Umm....I ...I.." i smattered with out knowing what to say. My mom comes from behind the crowd,"what is it dear?" My mom questioned me.
"I wanted to ask i if i could borrow chelsea's gold shoes" I said while thinking she might not give,"Its just for one day,please!!"I implored.
"If you really want it, I could let you borrow it for a day" said chelsea in a low tone.
"Are you sure about your desicion chelsea?" Asked chelsea's parents.
"Yes i like to make new friends" said chelsea
She gave the shoes, my outfit for tomorrow's party was complete.I went back to the dinner table and finished my desert.
I headed straight to my room and brushed my teeth and washed my face in the wash room. i switched off the lights and got to the bed and wrapped myself with the blanket to have a peaceful sleep after this hectic day.
The sun rose and it was about 5.00 in the morning. And there goes my alarm..."tingtingting tingtingting". I reached my hand out of bed to off the alarm.
My hands pushed the blanket away and I sat down on the side of the bed Putting my feet down to put on my flipflops. I walked to the wash room to get ready for school. Our uniform is a white half sleeved shirt with a lime green skirt with two 2mm gold lines which go around in the upper hip part of the skirt and to go with it there is tie in the color of my eye, green.
I put on my uniform and brushed my light brown hair to a ponytail tying it with the same green ribbon,climbed down the stairs with my bagpack and sat on the wooden chair beside the entrance to put on my long white socks and black polished shoes.
The bus is here."beep..beep!" It horns.
"Bye mom!" I said
"Bye sweetie" replied my mom
I stepped outside and closed the front door. Ran to bus and got in. I went on to sit on 2nd front seat and for my surprise its lauren. She never comes before me.
"LAUREN!?" I said in surprise
"Im speechless. Come sit down meghan" replied lauren
I sat down and rested my bag on the lap. Still in shock i asked her, "why are you are early today? Anything special rather than olivia's birthday?"
"Nothings special, I just thought being different today."said lauren suspiciously.
"Hmm...so thats the case huh?" I asked while raising an eyebrow looking doubtfully.
"Yep.. so did you find anything?"
" find what?"
"An outfit for Olivia's birthday"
She seems to be changing the topic,oh well. "Yeah. i did" i replied.
"Great!"
Then she kept on being Silent even after we got to school. I got in class. Our classroom had seprate desks for everyone and its a girl high school.
Olivia came up to me, "Are you coming for my party? Please dont say you aren't" she asked in worry.
"Ofcourse i am. Why wouldnt i?"
The bell rang ,we all sat on our places. The science teacher entered the class. I hate science.
Then we had recess and the rest of the subjects.
I got home at about 2.00. Then next thing i do is go up to my room to change my clothes. I sat on my chair which came with the table. And opened my drawer where i kept the gift i bought for olivia earlier. Took the wrapping paper which had white,blue and glitter lines, just the way olivia likes.
After chopping and tapeing around the present I went to get ready the when the clock striked 2.00. Lauren said she would to pick me up at 2.30, olivias party's at 3.00.
I put on the blouse and skirt with gold shoes. My hair was just left loose. Added a touch of makeup, i took my phone and the gift and came downstairs.
My mom was asleep. I shouldnt just go without telling her. So i left her note hope she sees.
Mom,
I was about to go to my friends party but i wanted to inform you just before i leave but you were asleep.i didnt want to disturb you so i left you this note, hope you dont get mad ill be back at 7.
I stepped outside but no one was there i waited a bit. lauren wasnt coming . I took a call it was ringing then i see a blue car coming my way it was lauren and her father. I cut the call.
"Hi lauren!"
"Hey GIRL!, come in." Said lauren while sitting in the back seat. I opened the car door and got inside the then car started moving.
Laurens father looks strict he has big mustache and his eyebrows were always pointed.
"Nice to meet you uncle! Thanks for letting me come" i said without hesitation.
He uttered no word. That was so embarrassing.
"You look awsome in this dress. Where did you get?"
"Huh?",i said turning towards lauren, "Oh! Thanks, it was just lying in my closet nothing special".
We got closer to olivias house, it was huge and looked similar to mansion. We finally arrived. And got out of the car.
"Daddy, could come pick me up at 7?" Asked olivia from her father.
And he nodded his head and looked foward , started the car and left.
