The signs are there, this I know.
I'm ready to move on, ready to let go.
The writing is splattered across the wall.
I don't want to die, no, not at all.
But how do I get people to see,
The time has come, I want to be free.

The life I know must come to an end.
I've grown so wary and let my spirit bend.
I must break the cycle, change the routine.
Start building the life that's in my dreams.
I can't let fear ruin my days.
I have to stand up, have to be brave.

Though I write a darkened verse,
I know there's hope in the universe.
The things I feel may be bleak,
But it's not a sign that I am weak.
I've battled each day, from then till now.
I'll keep fighting till I stand proud.

My story is not one of tragedy,
Rather, it is of hope for others to see.
Though these times may be rough,
They serve me well, and make me tough.
So now it's time I say goodbye,
But like a Phoenix, I will rise.
