Some people have a misconception
When they mention other’s feelings
“Don’t feel that way” they say
Which can send the others reeling

At times it’s done with intention pure
When the mouth works faster than
the brain
How can you tell one how to feel
Should be their return refrain

Feelings are a most personal thing
They come from deep inside
No one can feel the other’s pain- when
For protection- they try to hide

It is demeaning to a person
Both arrogant and offensive
Whatever the motive is
It’s totally insensitive

If the reason is to help
And the feeling is genuine
Listen and caring what they say
Is truly the best medicine

The worst paining has
Is the worst pain they know
To judge what their experiencing
Is not the way to go

To try to be of help-
Just listen- respect and understand
You’ll find that goes a longer way
When you offer your helping hand

  • Maurice, today this is the second thing I am reading only next to that unknown writer called GOD IS MY. Both of you have the same thing in common. Both of you have inspired me to write a poem.
