Do they see you cryingOr is that you who’s smilingAre you putting on a maskSo really they won’t askThey want you to feel betterYou were a “go getter “The life of the partyYou were hail and heartyThat was another lifeNow pain depression and strifeDo you feel good if they’re relievedDo you think that your smile is believedAmidst your performing smileYour dying all the whileThis effort to deceiveAre giving the wrong people reliefIf you’re honest it may get some soreBut those with compassion will knowthe scoreIf healing is your fervent wishThen honesty should top the listBy thinking of their fearsYour crying silent tearsYou know your life’s been toughYou’ve hidden quite enoughDon’t you think it’s time to chooseTo win rather to loseIt’s time to take a standAnd renew the life you planned
