If you fall for me then you are a fool

Because I will not leave you

Where your Earth meets disaster

Neither will I lease my tongue from my bite

I will hesitate yet step afoot into the silence

That comforter; that cold warmth

And let thoughts teach my tongue

The misery it cannot ever say

If you fall for me then I am a fool

Because I will keep myself

Where you meet the earthquakes

That throw the foolish through its gaps

You will live in the shadow of my heart

Where uncertainty gathers in the mouthless

You will die and yet I will live

As if my spies never made it clear

If you fall for me then we are fools

Fools with crowns of naïvety, fear

And all of flesh. Because that's what we are

And O, we are of heaven!

Because I will leave you

Where your Earth meets disaster

And clean my tongue of your taste

If you stand up then you are cruel
