To whoever finds this, this will be my final entry.

I've been sent on a journey to extract intel about a mysterious unidentified aircraft that appeared in our solar system's planetary orbital. At least that's what I was told at first.

I arrived at my waypoint to find an abandoned spacecraft controlled by artificial intelligence to fly and cycle through an never ending maze and reach an unreachable point across this vast nothingness.

I took certain precautions and boarded the ship. Moments after I board, I recieved a message. 'Mission complete'.

'You've done well kid, you're free now. Go live your life , don't let us down.'

I hear noises from the control room and went to investigate. After a few whirling noise, a flash of light hits the room.

I remember nothing after that but the silence of space and the cold metal chilling me to my spine.

My radar couldn't detect my ship anymore, and my position was now in unknown territory.

That message sent to me was always a mystery to me then, but now, I finally understand.

I was selected for this task, to find this ship and find it's purpose.

And it's main objective, was to find me.

I looked further into the ship's database, and decrypted it's true motive buried inside an encrypted message.

Earth has been destroyed because of a disturbance in it's orbital cycle, and I am now the only human left in the universe. It was left up to me to decide what was going to happen to humanity.

Its seems like only yesterday I was looking out the window and seeing the night lit up with beautiful lights across the planet. Strange thing is, the date on this screen displays May twelveth 8661, but I don't feel a day older than twenty- five. I should have died already given the amount of time that have passed, but this ship is keepng me alive for a purpose.

This craft I once feared was now my salvation, and I was to continue on and rebuild what remains of our legacy.

I've done all I could to try and get back to what remains of Earth, but to no success. I am lost amongst the stars, with no set coordinates to guide me and no chance of rescue, I am soo far from anyone I can call friend, far from anyone I can call family, and far from anyplace I can call...

Home.

This was supposed to be my last mission. Before I can return home and continue on my old life. I guess you could say it was. Only problem then, it was already too late when I found out what had happened.

They wanted me to survive, so that we humans won't just be a fragment in time, but there's nothing to look foward to, is there? The emptiness out there reminds me always... that I have failed my mission. I am the last of my kind, and the only one there ever will be. At least, If I go now, I can still achieve something for myself.

To my beloved, I know you've been gone a long time already, but your thoughts and memories were always watching over me throughout these times of hardship. It was the only thing that kept me going through all these struggles over the years. I would hear your voice every minute of every waking hour keeping me companied inspite of this solitude. I would see projections of you in empty seats, sipping a cup of coffee as you've done in the past. I would dream of you in my sleep,  and you would tell me 'stay strong as you have always been.' I would always tell you that I would come back home after this, and when I do, we'll start our family, and live our lives together. I've seen that future in my visions of us. If only you can see it too, our prophecy fulfilled. I play it over and over again in my head, but... in the end, this loneliness... has become my defeat. Theres nothing to look foward to in this death trap. I can't continue this tale that I've started for us, so I'm closing the book now. I think it's finally time... that I join you... in wonderland. I made you a promise that day, that we would live and die together. I couldn't keep my promise then, but that doesn't mean I won't try.

I never would've thought it would end this way, but the future is something we will never understand, is it?

I guess this is it. Here's where it all ends.

This is Cole. Whoever finds this, send me home.

Good bye.
