The day  has ended
The parades-dedications-tributes and memorials are over
Life goes on
For thousands of young men and women many the same ages as our writers community members life ended for them-on the battlefields of history 

We’ve been lnundated with every form 
of conceivable message 
From the solemn to the commercial 
There are thousands of people who will never forget - the surviving veterans
and the families of our dedicated heroes

It is only fitting that we take moments 
to remember as we go through our lives 
Without their gigantic sacrifice
Our lives would be much different
