     My fears were coming true like dominos. It all started when Conrad betrayed me. He was like a brother to me. Just thinking about what he did breaks my heart into a million pieces. But it wasn't just my heart that he broke. His parents put me in a boarding school because just looking at me reminded them of him. I hardened my heart after that which got me into trouble. I couldn't help it. Being a rebel was just in my blood. 

     But being a rebel got me expelled from 5 different schools. Eventually, I had to go to a school all the way in Europe. I like it there. I was away from my old life, I got to keep my cat with me, and no one was there to remind me of my past. Changing into this new person felt like I was on my own from now on. I never heard from Conrad, and I never wrote to his parents. I'm sure that I hurt them, but I had no more room in my heart for guilt.
