I love the color of my skin

And I love the culture that I carry within

Loving someone who is different will never change a thing

Slavery Is over but racism is still going on

But the actions of a few shouldn’t make loving out of my race wrong

My intentions are not about the newborn with nice eyes and curly hair

It is about admiring someone even if they look rare

This is suppose to be the generation that is accepting and woke

But why when I bring up someone different everyone’s mind is in smoke?

Why should anyone care about who has my heart?

The closed minded and bias people is what is tearing this world apart

And no I will never speak down on my kind

I know where I come from and there is no leaving that behind

So next time you are questioning who I’ve been with

Remind yourself that it is none of your business
