This weekend there will be picnics- parties-BBQ’s -parades and sales 
Traditional Memorial Day events

On Monday -Memorial Day is the time to commemorate with gratitude our thank you to the men and women of the  armed services who have fought and died first for us to become a nation and then to defend our nation and our allies as well 

Some of the battles were controversial 
and met with demonstrations and criticism 
I too objected to certain hostilities 
But that was in the political realm 
The men and women who died- were wounded  or came home  bearing  the emotioal scars of the horror of war
deserve  uncompromising appreciation 
for their sacrifice as does their families 

Thousands of families live with the loss of Fathers-Mothers-Children and Siblings and are now part of the Memorial Day reality 

It is only fitting that we take the time in our own way to give thanks to these
heroes who will never see their families again 
As we go on with our lives bearing the fruits of their sacrifice in the greatest country in the world despite it’s faults 

When you deeply love a person or a country and recieve love in return 
You accept their imperfections 
as you hope they accept yours
