Alone with my thoughts
A never- ending journey
Conjuring up images
So clearly I can see

Whether day or night
In darkness or light
When stillness flows in
Recollection starts within

An event that just occurred
Or an incident absurd
A twenty year old memory
Of a conflict with an enemy

Like splash painting on a wall
When it splatters to create
The images appear
You don’t have long to wait

The brain’s electric charge
Static’s visions small and large
Each one a part of your past
Recall that’s made to last

We’ve been designed with this gift
Which makes us unique
When life’s situations shift
And it’s solutions we seek

Alone is not only a physical thing
But the mind is not yet done
You can be with dozens of folks
Still you’are the only one

Alone and loneliness
Are miles apart
Alone can be a much help
But lonelienes can break your heart

As in all life’s work
You have to put it to use
There isn’t much more to say
If you ignore this -there’s no excuse
It can effect more than today
