If you're looking to book a tent for your wedding or event this summer, you need to know which one is the best one for you. There are several different designs, sizes and styles you can hire out, so which one works best? The first thing you'll have to decide on is a frame tent or a pole tent. What's the difference, and does one have an advantage over the other?

Construction Differences
The main differences between frame tents and pole tents is the way they're constructed. The clue really is in the name. A frame tent is constructed by stretching canvas or vinyl fabric over a large frame. A pole tent, on the other hand, is set up by using poles to hold up the roof.
These both have their benefits and drawbacks. A pole tent looks fantastic inside and out, but you can't get away from the fact that the poles are blocking the way inside. You'll need to arrange the event inside the tent so the poles won't block the view of whatever is happening.

Locating Your Tent
Where you want to put your tent will affect what kind of tent you get. If you're putting your tent on grass, then you can use either kind of tent with ease. Either style can be staked into the ground to keep it in place, no matter what the weather is like.

If you want to erect the tent on another surface, such as concrete or decking, then you'll need commercial frame tents. This is because this style of tent can be held down with weights, as well as being staked into the ground. You can't do this with pole tents, so you'll need to keep this in mind when you're planning where you'll hold your event. Frame tents work well on rooftops or by swimming pools, for example, so they're well worth considering for your event.

Pricing
The pricing of both styles of tent are comparable, and you'll find when shopping around that either will work within your budget. Renting them is often much cheaper than you'd imagine, perfect if you only need it for a onetime event such as a wedding. What will affect the price of your tent will be the labor costs for getting it set up. In these cases, a frame tent will cost a little more as it takes a longer amount of time to get the frame together and set up.

Aesthetics
When it comes to aesthetics, both frame and pole tents will look fantastic when set up. A pole tent will look amazing thanks to its sloping roof, giving it dips and curves that look amazing from any angle. If you're going for a more traditional look, then they are the way to go.
On the other hand, a frame tent supplier can give you tents that give you something different. For example, clear top tents are becoming more popular. As the name suggests, the roof of these tents are clear, allowing sunlight in through them. They really come into their own at night, as they allow your guests to see the stars through them, lending the venue an ambiance you can't get anywhere else.

Size And Shape
The size and shape of your tent is important, so you'll need different tent footprints depending on your needs. You can get pole tents in a variety of sizes, but this is where frame tents really shine. They come in a huge variety of sizes, and are modular. This means you can create whatever size and shape you need, to accommodate everybody who will be using the tent. This is perfect if you need to fit a tent inside a certain space, as you'll have the ability to customize the tent to suit you and your needs.

As you can see, there are a few differences between pole and frame tents. Thanks to their differing construction, you'll get different sizes of tents, and different styles. You'll also need to pick your tent depending on where you're hoping to erect it. You'll see though, that there advantages to both styles, so you can pick the tent that works best for your needs.
