 ~Aiden~

I never asked for this. I didn't want my perfect, normal life to get crumpled and thrown around. It made me feel so helpless. Well, that's how I felt in the beginning. My name is Aiden Romero, and this is the story of how me and my friends' lives got flipped upside down.
The sun was just peeking over the horizon, sending out a beautiful array of warm colors into the sky. I pressed my hands down on the rock and tilted my head, analyzing how the sky could have been watercolors. I sat on top of the other smaller rocks getting an amazingly breathtaking view of the beach. Clear teal-colored waves gently crashed down onto the sand beside me, and pushed back against the huge semi rocky dunes to the other side. I could feel the warm, smooth surface of the huge rock beneath my hands and feet which comforted me. The salty breeze flowed through my messy black hair and it felt like all of my problems had melted away.
This is my happy place, one place I can always go to think. Nobody ever comes to these rocks, or even this side of the beach. There are mainly two reasons for that. One, was that there is plenty of other beaches that are way more popular and with "better" shops surrounding them. And the second reason was because people were scared of being near the house that my parents used to live in. My house is right next to this beach, opposite of the rocks i am sitting on. But what happened to them was terrifying.
One night, they simply did not come home from work. My dad was a doctor, my mom a lawyer. I had made dinner for me and my older brother Mike, and went to bed. We thought they'd just got caught up with work. I wish that was the case. In the morning they still weren't home. Their beds were made and their cars were in the driveway. I wake up early to watch the sunrise, so there was no way they were already at work. Days passed, full of worry and sadness. Mike finally called the police and filed a search for them. They had vanished.
They couldn't have left town, I had thought. Their everything was here. Their house, kids, and friends were all here. And they loved their jobs with a passion. It didn't make any sense.
But that was when they found their cars behind a storage unit. The unit was at the edge of the city next to a huge forest. Beachton was completely isolated except for a single highway,I didn't know where it went. Anyways both cars were beat up like some crazy strong huge fist had slammed into them. We were called there immediately but when we had gotten there I burst into tears. Blood was splattered all over the inside of the cars. And on the ground around them. A sharp knife made of gold was found inside my Mother's car. All of their belongings were found to. My mom's purse and bag and my father's wallet and case. The police told us that there was no way they could have survived that kind of blood loss- they were dead. They searched for clues everywhere. But there were no fingerprints anywhere, so nobody was suspected. When I denied that they were dead Mike had them run blood samples. They matched my parents...
We never resolved how it happened or who did it. We called our parents works and they had reported that they had left at the normal times the first night they hadn't come home. That was the only clue to my parents' deaths. I pledged my life to finding out what, why, and how it happened. I would avenge their deaths.
