As soon as my head hits the pillowThe emotional parade beginsThe thoughts rangeFrom familiar to strangeFrom bizarre to extasAll that my minds eye can seeThe bad ones disturbingAnd l’m finally IearningHow to battle the demonsWhen it’s demon hunting seasonWhen they enter my brainWith their demonic refrainI change my thoughts moodBy thinking of foodIt sounds like a quirkBut it really does workThe good thoughts are pleasantLike a great birthday presentMake sleeping an easeLike a cool summer breezeThe problem existsWhen my mind takes a twistI’m confronted with a pictureOf a good and bad mixtureThe technique’s the sameWith this mixed up refrainWith the good thoughts I rideForcing bad ones to hideWhen they come backI’ll resume the attackAnd send all those demonsOut- loudly screamingTo tell you truthAs I march on this routeI don’t always winAnd to my shagrinMy heart skips a beatAnd that night I don’t sleepI now poise the questionFor you writters suggestionWhat is your strategyWith your sleep -time tragedy
