If the mountain seems too big today,
then I'll climb a hill instead.
If the morning brings me sadness,
I'll just stay in bed.
If the day ahead weighs heavy
and my plans feel like a curse,
I feel no shame in rearranging
because I won't make myself feel worse.
If a shower stings like needles,
and a bath feels like I'll drown,
if I haven't washed my hair for days,
I'm not going to throw away my crown.
A day is not a lifetime,
a rest is not defeat,
it's no measure of a failure,
just a quiet, kind retreat.
It's okay to take a moment
from an anxious, fractured mind,
the world will not stop turning
while I get myself aligned.
The mountain will still be there
when I want to try again,
I will climb it in my own time,
I'll just love myself till then.
