I’m walking a tightropeBalancing is toughCross the lineThat too will be roughI’ve been there beforeBut conscience stepped inToday l’m not sureIf conscience would winTorn in directionToday life can’t helpShould I speak to someoneOr deal by myselfConvictions are weakenedIs time running outI once had the answersNow there’s just doubtI’m grasping at strawsWrong straw- we all payIf I cross the line-May do it anywayWhen need becomes magnetsAnd force gets too strongThe step I may takeConfuses right and wrongPrinciples get hazyDesperation moves inShould I cross the lineI lose if I winOne foot is raisedThe other’s on trackShould I step forwardThere’s no going backBefore this brief journeyStart thinking real fastIf I cross that thresholdI discard the pastWhat’s more importantAt this stage of the gameTo change my directionOr keep things the sameIf the answer were simpleThis would be a blank pageIt used to be easyBut not as this stageWith all of my effortsAnd all of my timeI still face this dilemmaOf crossing the line
