This we Replay

Memory of lingering lover's kiss, 
Hearts vexed, as mind replays this. 
Memories of lingering lover's kiss. 
Asking oneself just how we lost this?

Not long ago, we were ready to leap. 
Even if the price be steep. 
Now it's as if we are in eternal sleep.
Frightened of the dreams we keep. 

Upon moon and stars, 
We pray to whoever you are, 
Please be kind, for we've fallen too far. 
Aching to be anything but who we are. 

Funny how time falls away, 
When through pain we choose to stay. 
Even when we know there is another way. 
Pleading to weather the storm that comes our way.
