We often  go out looking 
For one to be our mate
 If we feel we’ve found the right one
We do not hesitate 

We only know the surface
It’s only just the start 
But due to our emotions 
We think with just our heart

If this progresses further 
And the dating still exists
Encouragement increases
Beyond a sweet first kiss

It then becomes apparent
She does not feel the same 
Then the relationship is ended
Who’s the one to blame

Well you’re the one offended 
Confused and angry as well 
There was no clear indication 
That this is how she felt 

If communication was honest 
And feelings clearly expressed 
What could have been avoided 
The sting of being depressed 

A major common error 
That often turns the tide
Our needs and expectations 
Are buried deep inside

For relationships to flourish 
To build for something strong
Patience and time should be present 
To limit what goes wrong 

When our mind thinks”Right One “
We mistakenly surmise 
That  “Right One “ means perfection 
We’re in  for a surprise 

No human being  is perfect 
We all have got our faults 
Accepting the whole person 
Avoids an early halt

If that is well accomplished 
And this continues on
Trying to change your partner 
Can convince them to be gone

Relationships that lasted 
Have worked with compromise 
So through the stressful issues
They’ve been able to survive 

To finally find the right one 
It’s clearly plain to see
That finally finding that person 
Can be different for you and me

This only is a guideline 
That’s used to limit pain
To end a potential problem 
With strength to begin again 

Relationships are blessings
Through laughter and through tears 
The glow of satisfaction 
Can last you through the years
