Minchives, My First Homebrew D&D Race Read Count : 62

Category : Stories

Sub Category : Fantasy

This is a rough draft by the way and I'm just throwing ideas around to see if any of these would be fun. Give me constructive feedback, I love that stuff.

Anywho, Minch. A combination of the words massive and pinch. In case you can't tell where this is going here's a clue. They're either freakishly tall or super small. 11-13 feet tall or 6 inches to a foot tall.

These are classified as fey, meaning they have low light vision, can't sleep, and can't be charmed. When small they get plus 2 to dexterity and if they're big they get plus 2 strength. As well as all the bonuses of being small or large. This includes movement speed, armor class, and attack damage. Weapons to down two sizes and half the attack because they shrink with you when small. As well as +2 to stealth checks.

These get come from a lineage of cursed pixies who fought against a powerful necromancer. Their immortality and their ageless bodies were stripped away. As well as their fair looks. As well as being stripped from their once powerful connection to nature's magic and must find other means for it. They are also shunned by other fey, for they lost their beauty with the curse. The little magic they do have can only effect their size.

They usually form small clans, mixing in with halfings around their size. Or protecting half-elves who are also shunned from some fey. They get along well with dragonborns and tieflings who are also outcasts. They get along with kenkus because they are both a cursed race. They don't mind goliaths despite their honor bound ideals because they put up a good brawl. They however despise humans, elves, and dwarves alike because they are usually out casts in larger societies.

They are commonly rogues for their natural stealth, fighters for their love of fighting, warlocks and sorcerers to obtain what was taken from them, or clerics and paladins so they can fit in with society. They hate druids, rangers, and barbarian because they all draw power from nature and can't stand any reminder of what they lost. They have no patience to be a monk or wizard because they are no longer timeless and only live the average span of a human life.

If you don't play Dungeons and Dragons, don't worry. If this is confusing I get it. I am just a huge need over this kind of thing and wanted to make a new race for D&D for the hell of it. If you'd like explanation to any of this or even how to play, message me, I'd be happy to start an online campaign in the messages or just help you learn how to play. Maybe even make you a character. Why knows? Anywho just got about five hundred word as my longest write here.
