Female genital mutilation also known as FGM is a decade history in Africa and the world generally,female genital mutilation is for women,most Africans parents mutilate their children due to some religious or social beliefs.In the serene world of today,female genital mutilation is bad as we are now in advance and technology age,say no to female genital mutilation

What is female genital mutilation?FGM comprises all procedures involving partial or total removal of the female external genitalia or other injury to the female genitalia organs for non medical reasons as defined by World Health Organization,but in my own short defination,Female Genital Mutilation is the partial or total removal of the female genital organ callef clitoris for non medical purposes.in conspiracy,most African parents believes much in FGM theirby not yielding to any information given to them

In some part of states in Nigeria,women are mutilated on their wedding day,and in some part they are mutilated at the range of 0-10 years old.Female Genital Mutilation can cause death as a result of severe bleeding from the female genitalia leading to haemorrhagic shock,neurogenic shock as a result of pain and eventually sepicaemia.

Their are four classes of FGM or types of FGM;type i: is clictoridectomy,this is the partial or total removal of the clitoris and its prepupuce;type ii: is known as excision,this is the process where as the clitoris and labia minora are partially or totally removed with or without excision of the labia majora;type iii: is known as infibulation while type iv: is callef unclassified
People who do these Female Genital Mutilation are only offered a little or meagre money in some Africa states.Female Genital Mutilation,not only occurs in Africa only but the world as a whole,the belief of African parent is that,mutilating a female will save them from being wayward or turning into a whore and will let them maintain their virginity till they engage but NO,researchers prove it that 80% of prostitues in the world are mutilated therefore proving the belief of FGM wrong.

As of 2019,28 United States have made a specific law that prohibits FGM,whike the remaining 22 states had no specific law against FGM.In May 2015 Ex president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan signed a Federal law banning FGM,opponet of FGM cite this move as an important forward in Africa,as Nigeria is the most populous country and has set of important precedent.

This is the hightime we said NO to Female Genital Mutilation.
