Laughter and smiles Dressed green for the day All full of craic The Irish way Aftershave and make-up Added with pride The taxis are ordered Let's try get inside Be careful, Be safe Each parent did say, Wishing their loved ones A happy fun day Th night's still young So parents settle their heads It'll be a while yet Before their back in their beds We didn't suspect Couldn't guess such a thing Full of good cheer When the phones start to ring Come lift me mum I'm ok dad But someone got hurt I think really bad Most got home safe Not all got home sound Most parents relieved It wasn't theirs on the ground The ambulances raced Friends and family hold their breath When the horror comes through There's been three deaths Three young loved lives So cruelly torn away Three Angels entered heaven The got in on St Patrick's Day
