Shouts: The Strange Mimicer Read Count : 56

Shouts, without creative capacity of a voice, grew up with nothing more then a shortsword, food, and his want for power. Adopted by a poor human family, he was raised up with their daughter who he sworn to protect. His family, the Spades, were a strange family who valued magic above every thing but family. Hence, a Kenku with no magic and not of their blood, would normally not be a priority. But their daughter thought otherwise. She and her family infused their blood with his so that he could use the Spades ancestral magic to protect their daughter who let this happen. This was a year ago, shortly after she was taken away by someone of greater power, and Shouts left trying to find her no matter the cost.

Shouts is short and skinny by human standards, four foot six. Making him at first glance look like his best friends play mate and not her body guard at first glance. A lot of his phrases come from her as well as arguing in the market place where he was born. He is normally happy easy going person, however when protecting others he is ruthless and isn't hesitant to kill anything that's in his way. He hates spicy food just like his former companion and uses the word milk to ask someone to stop. He also Shouts for people to hurry up in a wizened old voice or fire an insult at someone for not paying attention. He also swears in hobgoblin and any language someone shouts in, hence his name Shouts. Despite this he'll say things like Pretty or his own name in a little girls voice because it brings him joy and reminds himself of his mission. To fly, to find, to retrieve, and rescue his first friend.

By the way I've played D&D with this character for 6 hours before coming up with a backstory that I'll probably never use. I still love this character. Someone at the table that plays a Firbolg  and another that plays a Drunk Vampire, another that plays a gnome fighter, and another who plays the classic Dwarven paladin; just needed a comedic birdfolk in their party. My character usually hangs around our firbolg because he's 9 something feet and has a pet owlbear that Shouts rides on. They make a pretty funny pair because both are sweet toward everyone else in the party but do the most in combat. Other then that, I'm glad I could make a character that could break the dark edgy Warlock, and the sneaky Kenku stereotypes.

Any suggestions, let me know, I love making characters.
