If I fixed my lips to say, I love you

Would those words even mean anything?

Often, there was only silence and interactions of rue

And when you walked away, I blossomed in spring.

Yet, now, these petals lie beneath me

In oceans of tears-in oceans of blood,

Flowing over, ever so abundant and free

And I swim without effort, wishing to drown if I could,

So I could utter the words I failed to say-

So I can see you standing in front of me again today.

In simplicity, I looked through it all

And forgot what you truly were, my father.

You were the only man I had,

So if you are looking down upon me

Or whether you choose to ignore me…

I may not have said it then, but I always loved you.
