Shouts, My New DnD Character Read Count : 47

Category : Books-Fiction

I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons, and had to start a new character. As a reaction, I made a warlock. But on one condition, that I could be a Kenku. These are a cursed people with a crowlike disposition and a dream of obtaining flight. They have no creativity and can't talk. Instead they mimic others around them. This allows for an otherworldly patron to easily manipulate my Kenku into making a deal with it for power in return for his enemy's fear.

At first I thought I made a brain dead character. He can only copy, and has to listen to an evil voice in his head to keep his power's, in which he is told it is worth it and cannot feel otherwise. Then we run into our first encounter. The mob leader in the bar calls parlay and goes away with the hobgoblin leader after two rounds and leaves up to die. Me and a human fighter. No magic other then mine.

The truth of the matter I didn't actually make a brain dead character. In fact, it was just the opposite. My otherworldly person's voice used by my Kenku intimidated the two Hobgoblins left over and we got away. The Player next to me claims that my Kenku could never have thought of that, because he can't use creativity. My response was that his patron told him to. Making my Kenku an all powerful messenger of fear for a sentient blade.

Not so brain dead anymore eh? Anywho I had a lot of fun creating this character. He can't talk other than use lines of other people. My favorite is a goblin telling us to get down or he'll kill us. In which Shouts and other people don't know, but it intimidates other goblins. That's how my Kenku earned the name Shouts. Hope you enjoyed, backstory coming soon!
