Today's the day, It marks a new beginning
Maybe it'll stop the world from spinning
Or my ears from ringing, my blood from pounding loud
From feeling like I'm stuck under a rain cloud
So today wasn't the best
Maybe I put too much stress
On one simple day
Was I expecting a parade?
No, I just wanted, I just needed to feel loved
Instead, in the hallway, I was shoved
Happy Birthday! There's my present
That one's going to leave a dent
I just want to be seen, appreciated, cherished
Because last year I almost perished
Those thoughts are trying to creep back in
I won't go back to where I've been
Some people have the choice to make it better, please do
I can't go through what I went through
