To my father,

Despite the painful past, I still love you and I only want you to be happy. May you allow God to reign and guide you in your life. Here's a poem dedicated to you:

Sitting by a big brushing willow tree up on a soft grassy hill

Alone in the vastness of my thoughts

Looking towards the captivating painting that is life

I contemplate on each and every moment that our creator has allowed me to experience through his will

From the calm peaceful times we shared, to the tough lonely battles fought

Reminds me that each day is a constant struggle to love, laugh, live, and thrive

My childhood memories are hazy like a cold winter fog on a country hill

Yet their presence is known when in their dark winter storm I am caught

But I know that spring comes after winter so I endure the cold peircing pain to survive

Only the hope that one day God's love and mercy will kill

That selfish ego that has prevented you from finding true happiness which you for so long have sought

Keeps me going and keeps you alive

I will continue praying for both of us till

From out of that pit you are freed no longer to rot

Then will we be happily in each others lives

I love you still

No matter what God through life's trials has wrought

I miss you and I need you in my life

Surrender to God's will

From his love run not

For in his love is the fountain of life

Take care dad. Until we see each other again.
