Alone but not lonely
The New Year Sun rises into its place
As it has since the beginning of time
Gazing at its glow-I begin unfolding
Forgotten memories stored away
In my brain
Forgotten then uncovered in the vault
of life experiences
Mental snapshots revealing the sum-total
of my life
As they integrate with the more vivid ones
I am connected with the tragedies
and triumphs-pain and pleasure that we all encounter in various degrees as we navigate  our way  through our
personal destiny
They are engraved in stone and cannot
be altered
They have enveloped us and become our personal fingerprint either by design or circumstance
With our amazing human trait
of reflection we can evaluate the past
and set a course for the future
Knowing we have this incredible ability
to change what we can control and strengthen ourselves for what we cannot
                   For
It has been written by those wiser than me
“It’s never too late”
