Alone but not lonelyThe New Year Sun rises into its placeAs it has since the beginning of timeGazing at its glow-I begin unfoldingForgotten memories stored awayIn my brainForgotten then uncovered in the vaultof life experiencesMental snapshots revealing the sum-totalof my lifeAs they integrate with the more vivid onesI am connected with the tragediesand triumphs-pain and pleasure that we all encounter in various degrees as we navigate our way through ourpersonal destinyThey are engraved in stone and cannotbe alteredThey have enveloped us and become our personal fingerprint either by design or circumstanceWith our amazing human traitof reflection we can evaluate the pastand set a course for the futureKnowing we have this incredible abilityto change what we can control and strengthen ourselves for what we cannotForIt has been written by those wiser than me“It’s never too late”
