Sometimes, things have a habit of coming back to you without even realizing it's happening. During Christmas, I went to my grandparents house for an annual visit with family members I don't see very often. In fact there's a particular group of sisters, cousins of mine, which I only see maybe once or twice a year. One of the three sisters, has a young son and daughter. I noticed her son was carrying something as he came inside the house. I was sure it was a deck of cards, but I didn't know what kind of cards they were at first.

After eating I noticed that the cards her son was holding were Pokemon cards and decided to sit beside him.  I asked him if I could see his cards, but he was reluctant at first. I promised him I wouldn't hurt them and I wouldn't run off with them I was impressed at first by how powerful some of them were, but noticed the rarity of some of them as well. I couldn't help recalling my own childhood and laugh at the way he babied them.

My cousin approached and asked if I knew how to play with them. I chuckled "It's been a long time, but I remember the basics." Believe it or not, this was the first moment I had ever bonded with Sara. She was amazed by how in depth the game was, and explained they had just been playing war by the cards life points. I nodded and replied, "I think he's a little young, but when you grasp the mechanisms of the game it's fairly easy."

"This was a memory of my childhood that had come back to life and one I shall cherish thereafter."
