Years ago the earth was blessed
With a wonderful babe,
Sea of love he brought along
Sinners he tried to save.
The light of love shone on him
Peace reigned on a calm face,
With outstretched hand he embraced
And delivered human race.
Great Soul who suffered for us
Bathed us in holy love,
Conveyed to us twin blessings
Of Father and Holy Dove.
Our Lord's holy touch we feel
In grass, flowers and green fields,
Like a beacon his words flash
In all our thoughts and deeds.
