Being an Immigrant to a new country back in the late 1800s isn't the easiest task.
To start a new life it requires money, which my family doesn't have a lot of. You see, I work at a factory. It doesn't pay very much, and it isn't the best looking place. It is very dirty, and very unorganized. A lot of other immigrants worked there, as they have the same problem I do.
Even though I have a job, I also have school to keep up with. I go to school in a one room school house. Many different grade levels are taught there. It is also very dirty and unorganized. I try to stay focused, but it's very difficult.
Now that i've described what my job and school day is like, next is about my living state. I live in a building with many small rooms. They're not the best, as we couldn't afford much better at this point. They held one 3 seater couch, 2 small beds, and a small table for us all to occupie.
Last but not least, what we do for entertainment. We don't do a lot, but we sure do try. Their's a small field across the street from the building we live in. Sometimes I go there with my family to play with a small ball with my siblings. But my favorite to thing to do is walk around the facinating city with my family to explore all the wonders of the new country.
This is exactly how I would live if I was a member of a poor family of immigrants in the late 1800s. I will live my new life in New York as positive and as safe as possible. :)
