I've witnessed my shadow disappear
And blend into the darkened sky
Just like the sun, it is not here
But I do not question why

For the earth has darkened on part of us
And enlightened on the other parts
Leaving stars behind that gather like dust
And leave a scene to warm our hearts

My eyes reflect of her mighty white glow
As her momentous power reigns the sky
I call her the moon, you probably already know
For her respect, she does not try

I thought my imagination could picture many things
But that must not be right
For I could not make up the beauty the atmosphere brings
When it is the reign of the night.
