I Love Cards But Hate Luck Read Count : 37

I play a lot of card games. From your standard slap jack to Uno to Magic the Gathering. Physical cards or online you name it. But I hate relying on luck. It's so hypocritical, I like something even though the reason is fun is what I hate. It's so weird because this just crossed my mind even though I've played Magic the Gathering since I was six. I guess I liked the fact that yes it was skill based but if I lost it was luck's fault and not mine. As long as I win most, I can still be known as the best at the table and if I lose I have enough time to improve before the next match. This makes me look like the best at the table and a god of cards without me having to be perfect. I never have to drive myself crazy over perfection or for other opinions because I know I'm already the best.

So I moved to Yugioh, a game where someone else was in the same situation that I was in Magic, he was known as the best, even when I won on occasion, he kept the title. I finally got to play without a huge target on my back and I got to play in an average position. That of course was until the second best person traded me an instant win condition. Then when I put it in no one gave a crap over who was the best, I was targeted because I had the ability to screw the rules and win.

Kind of proud about it though. I know I'm no where near unbeatable at either game. I also can't share this with my fellow card players because granting "Second Place" is a good bargaining chip for safety. So here it is for you to read. I don't like luck because it makes me seem the best no matter what the outcome is and it's weird. Just wanted to share thanks for reading.
