The Bar Read Count : 39

The clinking of glasses, drunken laughter, the smell of cheap perfume and smoke fills the air. Two figures sit at the bar, three seats apart. One has a glass of jack, the other one taking a forth shot of vodka. The one with the jack is broad and hunched, dark eyebrows creased in a frown over his emerald eyes. A scar runs over his left eye and a mechanical right hand rests on the bar counter. The leather jacket slung over his shoulders is worn with many years of use. An end of a cigar protrudes from between the scared lips.
The other, a slightly smaller form in a dark green jacket and beat up jeans, sits playing with the strings coming off the hood. Eyes a deep well of chocolate brown, face with lines of worry permanently etched into the sharp features. The shot glass is held easily in the left hand which shakes slightly as the vodka is downed in a single go.
The two hunched figures view each other out of the corner of their eye, evaluating every detail. The green jacketed one is the first to speak. The voice is slurred, showing her alcohol intake has already been substantial.
"What'ure name?"
The scared eye flicks in the voice's direction.
"What's yours?"
"Jadel... Call me Jay..."
"Nexus." Is the short reply.
Dark brown eyes study green ones, and they watch each other. Jay looks down at her empty glass with something akin to hateful appreciation. Nexus runs a middle finger over the edge of his also empty glass.
"What you here for?" He asks. The fact that he isn't drunk yet seems to annoy him.
"Got yourself a girl?" Jay asks, motioning to the bar tender for another drink. Smoke plumes out from the scared lips and Nexus turns his gaze to the counter.
"A boy..."
"Ah..."
