Albertus and myself decided to take our pup "Trixie" on her first hunt, she was called the runt of the litter , she wouldnt make a good dog... as we walk through the forest Trixie by our side, Albertus checks for fresh dung as I check for fresh tracks, Trixie begins to get excited as she spots a deer amongst the tree's, shhhh.. She goes down on the ground beside me in a prancing position ready to leap at the deer. I grab her collar in fear she might scare away the deer. Albertus loads the firearm and as he aims ready to fire, Trixie breaks free from her collar and Leap's out the bush, in seconds she's got the deer by the neck and drags it down to the ground, placing her paw on top of the deer she pants and barks excitedly, to let us know she's got the target.. Albertus and I run towards Trixie, wow!! Amazing, how could a pup not even 6 months old do a hunt this spectacularly, and without a hitch? Good girl... You not a runt now, are you Trixie? In my opinion you one of the greatest dogs anyone could ask for... Albertus and I get the deer and head back to camp, as we skin the deer and prepare it for dinner, we look at each other and say with a smile that was a exceptional hunt that Trixie did today, no damage to the deer besides the bit in it's neck, and it also didn't suffer... As the fire burns with the meat on we discuss the days hunt, as well as our future plans for Trixie's hunting training... As dinner is ready we cut off a nice piece to reward Trixie for her excellent hunt today... After dinner we clean up and get into tent ready for bed... Today was a exciting day..  Got to get up early tomorrow, to continue Trixie's training...
