Heavy lids 
Staring at a seemingly endless puzzling path
Smiling at the kids 
Never letting on the fear of impending wrath  
Darkness in the day 
Strikes fear where confidence was once assumed 
Light my path I pray , show me the way 
Before hope is lost and all I am , all we are; is ultimately consumed.
