Dear Human: If you’re reading this I have finally lost the fight. I’ve been overthrown and now it’s up to you to defeat this.

I remember it clear as day. When the radio went off that Marcus Marcillio had been located. I was ecstatic to be able to be apart of the search team that found him. He was seventeen years old and had never left the island. Sharks surrounded the island from every angle. Beyond the island was miles of unsearched waters. Trying to swim back alone would be a death wish. When he boarded the ship something just felt off to me. We locked eyes for a second and it looked like he was sad to be leaving the island. His entire demeanor was off too,  Although the air was cold and biting, he stood outside at the back of the boat, staring at the tiny strip of land until it became a speck on the horizon and disappeared altogether. Even then, he stayed there for awhile, shivering and thinking. When we reached the docks I seen it, nobody else did, but I seen it, he smiled. Not a gentle thank you I’m saved smile either. It had malicious intent and I knew it. I knew something was wrong as soon as I seen that smile.

When reporters crowded the rescued Marcus Marcillio and asked a million questions. It was like everyone expected and his speech was nonexistent from living on the island all alone. It was the only thing that convinced me I was going crazy. That smile and look meant nothing. Marcus was a good guy he was just lonely and overwhelmed. For those reasons I had tried to push the uneasy feeling I had back.

The world loved Marcus and everyone gravitated toward him. His speech was improving fast and he could now hold his own conversation. I just couldn’t get passed it though that smile it haunted me ever since I seen it. Something wasn’t right about Marcus and because I was the one who found it. It was up to me to figure out the secrets Marcus Marcillio held from the world.

I started with the only things I knew. Why was he sad to leave the island? Why was he maliciously happy when we reached the docks? It wasn’t much to go on based on what I knew.

When Marcus Marcillio was 1 month old he disappeared from the hospital under Dr. Kurenai’s watch. The hospital was frantic over mysteriously losing a child. His parents were destroyed when they were given the news. Dr: Kurenai spent 12 years of his life dedicated in finding and saving young Marcus. He spent every single second gathering information until he took his very last breath.

The death of Dr. Kurenai was a sad day because he was the one person who motivated everyone to keep searching. To not give up on finding this young boy alive and well.

In memory of him people kept searching day and night. We all worked together in patrolling streets and looking over maps. Search parties were sent out with 10 people on a ship.

Without much of anything to go on except from what I already knew I decided the best route to go is talking to Marcus myself.

People weren’t kidding his speech was improving fairly quickly. Quicker than a normal child in my opinion. I know what they were teaching him. How they were teaching him. So I pushed his buttons a little. I kept mentioning people that knew him when he was born. His parents, Dr. Kurenai, neighbors, it was a disgraceful  move but I blamed him for the people who were ruined by his disappearance. I knew something wasn’t right when I seen his smile. I knew now though that I had went too far this time.

His eyes flashed Red and gold. He screamed as he pushed me up against the wall and started yelling. Saying how whatever those people did while he was gone was they’re fault. That he was innocent. That he had nothing to do with the past. He said that whatever they decided to do doesn’t affect what he does.

Then he turned his head and looked right into my eyes. I I seen a vision of his past from the island. He wasn’t alone on that island for seventeen years. There were other people there, three to be exact. One had blond hair and his eyes they glowed yellow and blue. Another had red hair and wore all black. His eyes glowed black and orange. The other was a girl and she had brown hair. Her eyes glowed purple and pink. Each one of them had the same smile that Marcus had on the boat.

His eyes they flashed gold before he turned around and spoke in perfect Japanese.
