When there is so much evil in the world 
It’s hard to appreciate a kittens smile
Every day filled with hate and regret 
How can anyone seem worthwhile 
Sleep now my soft and beautiful one
This world is not good or right 
You shine with your temperance like the sun
So pure yet not too bright
