Am I a human because of my biology
Because of what I'm made of 
Because of the Atoms 
Am I a human because of ancestors
Why am I human? 
What makes us human? 
Is it our genetic makeup 
Or our ability to make mistakes 
Our ability to have emotions 
Our ability to know right from wrong 
Our ability to have compassion 
Our ability to learn
Our ability to love 
Our ability to hate 
What would we be if those skills were gone 
Would we still be classified as human
Our genetic makeup would still be the same 
We would look like every other human being in existence 
But would we be classified as human? 
Or would we be inhumane 
Devoid of emotion or feeling 
Cruising through without a care 


What would we be? 
If we weren't allowed to make mistakes? 
If we weren't allowed to mess up? 
If we weren't allowed to cry? 
If we weren't allowed to learn from our mistakes 


What kind of human would we be? 
If you try to bring us up as robots 
As mechanical superhuman machines 
Devoid of emotion 
Superior knowledge 
Lacking mistakes 


You can't make a human a robot 
Just like you can't make a robot human 
So again I'll ask 


What kind of human would you be 
If your abilities 
The things that made is unique 
were suddenly gone
