Shing. The sound of a sword being unsheathed spread through the air as Stormcutter Dragonfall walked into the arena, the wedged heels of her combat boots making a dull "click" sound against the shiny iron floor. She was dressed in her usual tournament style- her straight, black hair was pulled back into a tight braid, and she was wearing light armor on her arms, legs, and torso. "Most fighters wear heavy armor," Stormcutter thought. "It just slows them down." She spread her ten-foot black wings, and steeled herself for competition. Since Stormcutter was the High Queen of her kingdom of Lassinon, and an Eternal, nonetheless, people came from all around Hitol to challenge her. They either ended up dead or forfeiting, realizing that the dainty female they were fighting was tougher than she looked. Her Eternal status was partly to blame for this. Eternals are the highest Class, out of Hitolites(regular people with little to no magical potential), Astrals(more powerful people with a wider range of elements they can control, like Ice, Dust or Lightning) and Hybrids(mixtures of two different Classes or of a Hitolite and a human) Eternals are like gods among men. They can only pick out of the four Main Elements, Earth, Wind, Water, and Fire, but they have complete control. Being immortal, they win almost every fight they get into. But, Eternals are very rare. Stormcutter snapped into a ready stance as her opponent walked into the battleground. He was tall, bulky, and his gear was so big, Stormcutter thought it must've weighed a thousand pounds. The man was obviously a Myrnalite, from the one other mainland kingdom of Myrnal. "No other kingdom's warriors are so heavily armored- they're cowards, so they want to intimidate their opponents by wearing tough armor with artificial dents and blood stains on it." Stormcutter thought to herself as she eyed him and found his weak points. "And, begin!" As soon as the fanfare was over, Stormcutter, having already devised an excellent strategy, took one step back, beckoning the Myrnalite to her. He rushed toward her, his gigantic club of a sword ready to cut her in half. Stormcutter stepped out of the way just in time, and when the man peeled his body off of the stone walls, she unsheathed her double-bladed longsword, Hellfire, and stabbed him in the side. When she pulled Hellfire out, leaving two perfect puncture wounds, gushing with blood from burst organs, she ran to the other side of the arena and waited. The "warrior" yelled with pain and rage, and ran towards Stormcutter again. This time, she waved her hands in a circular motion, as if to welcome someone, and instantly the man was surrounded by a ring of fire. Stormcutter, being a Fire elementalist, was extremely skilled at making the flames bend to her will. The inferno of bluish fire closed in closer, and the man could feel the ton of steel protecting his body start to melt. "Hmm, what will it be? Blood loss or burning alive?" Stormcutter asked herself out loud, pulling the ring of flames tighter. Tired of torture, the Myrnalite took his breastplate off, and implanted his blade all the way through his heart. Even Stormcutter, being accustomed to death, was shocked as she saw his sword drive through his spine and poke out of his back. She silenced the fire and rolled her shoulders back, smiling. "And Stormcutter keeps her title as champion with a resounding victory! That must've hurt..." The announcer called from his place in the nosebleeds. Stormcutter walked through the prep room and out of the arena a few minutes later, having stopped to receive a bag of gold and sign autographs.
