Of withered, wilted roses does she speak. Carefully pressed flat for her to keep. Sent faded with time's mystique. Reminding her of when pure love her soul did seek. With naive eyes, veiled soul she did see. The player of hearts so it would seem. Broken shattered hearts are what he seeks. Like notches on a pistol for our world to see. Fallen tears drifting from where she must weep. Her dream hidden, trusting no other whom may seek. Lessons learned from what she did feel and see. Escaping certain death, with her life she did flee. Of withered, wilted roses does she speak. Where carefully preserved her nightmare does she keep. Ever wary of those with shaded desire, who seek. Bits of her torn soul does she together piece. From withered, wilted roses this, she does see. 2014 © Copyright Dell Anne Raye All Rights Reserved
