There was a time
When we went to parties 
Ane we were like everyone else
That was a good thing

There was a time
When we could not go to parties 
Because we became different 
That was a painful thing 

There was s time
When again we went to parties 
But stood apart from the rest 
That was a necessary thing

There was a time 
When we went to parties 
And our celebrating overshadowed 
all the others 
That was a progress thing

There is now a time 
When we go to parties 
We can celebrate like everyone else 
That is a healing thing
